GVR Lanka commences construction of iconic Dynasty Residence in Kandy

Colombo, March 18th 2014: GVR Lanka (Pvt) Ltd announced today that it has commenced construction of the iconic, first mixed development real estate project in Kandy, Dynasty Residence. The ground breaking ceremony was held at the site down Lady McCullum Drive, in close proximity to the majestic Mahaweli River and the famed ‘elephant bath’ recently. Chief Guest at the ceremony Governor of Central Province Tikiri Kobbakaduwa and the Chairman of GVR Lanka Mahasen Samaravijaya performed the rites of the ceremony at the auspicious time and prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter Ven. Udugama Rathnapala Sri Buddharakkhitabhidhana Maha Neyaka Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Gangaramaya Temple Ven Galaboda Gnanissara thero, and other prelates specially attended the ceremony while other dignitaries including Director of GVR Lanka Prema Cooray, Chairman/CEO of Kandy City Center Thusitha Wijayasena‎, Joint Managing Director at Sinhaputhra Finance Ltd Ravana Wijeyeratne, owner of HLB Edirisinghe & Co. Chartered Accountants Priya Edirisinghe, celebrated diplomat Dr.Jayantha Dhanapala, and the management of the company were also present.

The BOI-approved and the first residential apartment project designed according to US Green building LEED standards, Phase 1 – Dynasty Residence is due to be completed by December 2015. This phase has been designed as a 15-storey, exclusive, luxury residential apartment tower made up of 88 units including single, double and triple/ four villa -bed roomed along with 10 four-bed roomed duplex-style sky villas for the first time in Sri Lanka.
